I swear this happens every year in some way, shape, or form, but this year has been one with quite a few problems at school newspapers. Last week, newspapers at Carnegie Mellon, University of Scranton and the University of Nebraska-Omaha all decided to get racist or generally offensive for an April Fool on their readership. So far, two have been shut down for the year (Carnegie Mellon’s Tartan and Scranton’s Aquinas) and it is unclear whether anything has happened at the Omaha publication.
