According to an article by Dave Astor at Editor & Publisher on Wednesday, a company that produces Sunday newspaper comics sections for 38 newspapers has chosen to remove “Doonesbury” from its product. This happened after Continental Features took a survey of its customers and asked if they would like to keep the strip. A majority (21) stated that they would prefer not to have Trudeau’s work included in their weekly comics, and Continental plans on abandoning it in the near future. This has brought about some discussion about censorship - although no one is stopping the papers from individually carrying “Doonesbury” on their own - it just won’t be in the Continental-produced section.

Regarding Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004 comic strip…
As a major follower of your comic strip I was surprised and delighted to see that you had captured and described the essence of occupational therapy in 8 frames. You did something that most of us that are practicing OTs have spent a lifetime trying to do. The American Occupational Therapy Association has spent a great deal of money trying to distill OT into a 20 second sound bite - you did it! I’m curious how did you “get it” so quickly? That knowledge would be invaluabe to our profession. Thank you for such a clear, concise message and thank you for bringing attention to the issue that the lives of many armed service personnel will be forever altered by the injuries they receive.

Thank you for having the courage to show US Iraq occupation in many different ways.
As a Gulf war I veteran I am glad that you reflect on what the media wants us to forget, the fallen, the lies and torture.
Just one favor to ask .. can you include women as the wounded also? There are plenty sent back without limbs, yet the media doesn’t want that shown either .. they deserve to be recognized for their sacrifice over lies, deceit and profit.
