School thinking about blocking city paper on campus

November 8th, 2004 · 1 Comment

On Tuftsdaily.com, Lula Lakeou writes about how the student-run Tufts Community Union (TCU) Senate is currently discussing the possibility of removing the Boston Herald from being distributed on campus, specifically because of the paper’s “quality.” Much of the concern is related to the Herald’s printing of photos of Victoria Snelgrove, a student who was killed during police action to suppress rioting in Boston after the Red Sox defeated the Yankees in the Major League Baseball playoffs.

Over-reaction? Censorship? I don’t know, take your pick; obviously “quality” doesn’t stem from one poor judgement.
