The Associated Press reports that NBC Sports president Dick Ebersol survived a plane crash in Colorado on Sunday. Also on the plane were Ebersol’s sons, Charles and Teddy - the latter of whom is still missing at this time. Both pilots were killed in the crash, which happened on takeoff.
[update] Lost Remote’s Cory Bergman posted on this earlier today, linking to a news item from Denver’s News 9 NBC affiliate, which stated that the pilot, one flight attendant, and another passenger were killed.
[update 11/29 8:18pm] On Monday evening, the Associated Press reported that Ebersol’s youngest son, Teddy, is presumed to have been killed in the crash along with Luis Alberto Polanco Espaillat and Warren T. Richardson III. While the AP has not identified which man was the plane’s pilot, a commenter on this site has stated that Polanco was the pilot and her uncle. This has not been confirmed otherwise.

IN THE PLANE CRASH IN COLORADO ON NOVEMBER 28TH 2004,MY UNCLE LUIS ALBERTO POLANCO WAS THE PILOT AND WAS KILLED.I HATE TO WAKE UP IN THE MORNING THINKING MY UNCLE IS GOING TO CALL US AND SAY IT WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING, THAT HE WASEN’T IN THAT PLANE CRASH AND THAT HE WILL BE COMING HOME.

Dear Susan, Dick and Family,
My heart breaks for you and your family. As someone who has experienced a traumatic and sudden loss of a family member I know it is most wrenching. Warren T. Richardson III, the flight attendant that was also killed the plane crash was a close friend of mine and I was planning to pick him up in NJ after his trip. Warren-rest in peace and ‘LING-LING’! You will be missed.

As a young boy I lost my mother. After watching your interview with Tim this morning I can only extend my deepest apologies and thoughts. Please know that Teddys lost will be felt throughout the world. We can use your loss as a stronghold for our own lives. “Love as if you have never been hurt before” We can only celebrate the time we DO get to spend with someone before they are gone. thank you for the inspiration. Warren was such a great person. He was in my original training class with US Airways. He was such a great person, with a loving spirit. I am so sad to hear about this.
