May 25th, 2005 · 25 Comments

Billboard Radio Monitor’s Chuck Taylor reports Wednesday morning that WFAN sports talk show host Sid Rosenberg has been fired from the “Imus in the Morning” radio program, which is also run on television’s MSNBC - but not from his role as host from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on WFAN’s midday show.

Way to go Imus. Hey Rob, how would you like to have a testicle removed and have people make fun of you? Once can’t make the same slur about you since you are already going bald!

As a breast cancer survivor of 2 1/2 years I am shocked and appalled about the remarks made by the obnoxious Sid Rosenberg. I wonder how he would feel having a testicle removed(nice thought for him). I sure hope no woman in this primative slob’s family ever gets this dreaded disease. Yes, you idiot it is life threatening. If he ever gets cancer I for one will be the first in line to laugh in his face.

Halleluja! I do believe Don et al have finally seen the light by letting Sid go. His insults as humor have been too painful for too long.

Sid Rosenberg, do you actually think donating a week’s salary to the Susan G. Komen Foundation will satisfy those of us in the breast cancer community??? How about donating one day a week for a year for all those women who need rides to treatment, cooking and cleaning for them, helping them to pay for the expensive drugs and surgeries. Watch your back, fellow, you hit a nerve and this community will not sit back and let it go.

You are an insensitive jerk, and God will get you for this. I firmly believe that this horrible comment will be repaid.

I do not believe that this man should remain employed at all. The story indicates that he has repeatedly shown more than poor taste and lamentable judgement. Surely there are others better suited to handle the jobs he retains.

    WFAN should fire this man.

As a breast cancer survivor who has undergone 4 surgeries, chemo, and radiation in the last year, I am disgusted to hear this IDIOT is still employed by any station. Let the asshole mow lawns or flip burgers, but don’t give him airtime!! What a disgusting, thoughtless, brainless, drug-addicted jerk.

Sid shouldn’t have been fired. Sid was the best part of the show! Who cares if not everyone likes what he says…I like Sid!

Sid is an ignorant moron, and his termination is controversial for only the following 2 reasons: (1) it should have happened a long, long time ago, and (2) he should be fired not only from the Imus show, but also from his gig with Joe Benigno. Although I have been a loyal Imus listener for many years, Imus should not be able to wash his hands of this, either…as much as Sid was a jerk, he was doing exactly what Imus paid him to do.

No matter how many intelligent guests are on the Imus show, alas the mentality and crudeness of those working at WFAN completely invalidate whatever good Imus may be doing. Sid Rosenberg was nothing but a stupid, loud mouthed lout, but Bernard McGuirk is a petty, specious little fascist, who makes the show both unlistenable and unwatchable. Disgusting people.

Sid Rosenberg is symbolic of the state of our depreciating social values where denigrating others for the expressed purpose of attracting a large listening and viewing audience (themselves morally and socially bankrupt) to generate ad revenues…We should then fire them all but I guess we cannot…

Sid is a Crack addict. His brain is rotted out of his head, and thus the idiotic comments. His fate as an addict may be worse than those he has attempted a poor choice at sick humor.

Considering that Sid sought and received help for his myriad of problems, one would think he’d have an ounce of compassion for someone stricken with this horrible disease.
    His comment was truly disgusting.

Sid is no worse than the rest of the narrow minded bigots on that low rent, no mortality show. How about that Irish punk with his FEDEX hat insulting every Priest in the world, Bernie the Irish Shanty Scumbag and Imus himsel, the most egotistcal whimp to ever live. What a wast of airtime!

Ever watch somebody’s little brother try to participate in a conversation with the older boys and their friends? As he trys to keep up and match the ribald humor of the big kids he eventually goes too far and says something too crude and too unfunny that leaves a bad taste in everyones mouth. Trouble is, Sid is an adult and will never grow up any further…

I thought Sid was funny and the bright spot of the Imus Show. His comments about breast cancer were no more degrading than the constant tirade of Imus against fat people.

  • 16 Buzzard // Jun 15, 2005 at 12:36 pm

Loosen up everyone. If you’re looking for a “support” program, you should probably stay away from Imus’ show to begin with.

If you don’t think Sid was an important part of the show, you obviously don’t listen to it very often - either that or you have no sense of humor. The show is suffering again without him.

  • 17 JRow // Jun 18, 2005 at 12:12 pm

Buzzard is right, everyone needs to chill out over Sid’s comments…If one doesn’t like it, one can always change the station….but that’s what we’ve turned into…”i’m offended, so someone has to pay”…what happened to “sticks and stones will break my bones….”?

  • 18 Billy D // Jun 20, 2005 at 12:21 pm

Sid should have been fired a long time ago. Maybe Sid’s wife should ‘fire’ him too.

  • 19 kimba // Jun 29, 2005 at 8:32 pm

I am glad Sid is gone. I like the Imus show (even though some of the crude humor sometimes makes me cringe) because I really like the political commentary and overall, I think the show is very funny. I thought Sid brought the show down, and wasn’t funny or intelligent. I like his replacement much better.

  • 20 terrible tom // Jul 8, 2005 at 8:26 pm

Sid stepped over the line with an insensitive, obnoxious comment. However, since his firing from the “Imus in the Morning Show” he has cleaned up his act a bit… well, except for the comment that he had to retract in which he said that self-help guru Tony Robbins had been in therapy in the past.

  • 21 John // Aug 12, 2005 at 10:14 pm

It is good Sid is gone. Imus should follow. MSNBC can do better in the morning.

  • 22 joe // Sep 16, 2005 at 5:57 pm

Hey, how about all the other comments made by bernard? I remember him making very insensitive remarks about jews. I remember him saying hassidm have a foul odor and other antisemetic remarks.

  • 23 C M McManus // Oct 1, 2005 at 8:53 pm

I am so glad that idiot Sid is gone. What a jerk! He is a crack addict and alcoholic and you could often see he was “out of it” on the show.Imus did everything to help him but Sid blew it all away! Sid is a jerk and will always be a jerk!

  • 24 jonhere // Oct 20, 2005 at 2:28 pm

Most of you people need to lighten up. I feel like I should get a box of tissues out so everyone can cry about how his comments hurt your feelings. Although I never heard his comment about breast cancer, which likely was over the top, I always enjoyed his hysterical commentary. If it hurts somebodys feelings, oh well. Turn the channel! Don’t forget to call me insensitive for laughing at you while your at it. You’ll were probably just waiting for someone to hurt your feelings anyways, if he didn’t I’m sure someone else would have.

Sid is … was a lacky horror. His anti religious remarks, ususally insulting the Christian faith were dispicable. I agree, Sid and this entire program are a sign of the revolting times we live in … and … I’ve, for the most part, stopped listening to this program. What really sickens me, and what is truly a significant sign of these days, is the fact that so many of this country’s politicos chose to appear on this sickening program.
