Of interest from my RSS reader on 11/27:

  • Gothamist shares some details on Star, formerly of Power 105, Hot 97, and a number of other places, apparently getting another radio DJ gig in NYC
  • Wizbang’s Jim Addison points out that top Democrats plan to honor the picket lines at the upcoming Democratic Presidential debate, set for December 10, if the writer’s strike isn’t solved by then
  • No XM for [guitar riff eerily similar to the Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Til Brooklyn”] Imus!!!! (Thanks, FishBowlNY!)
  • PaidContent’s Rafat Ali reports on an announcement from Dow Jones that the company is “exploring strategic alternatives” WRT its Ottaway group of media.
  • James Joyner drops his two cents in on the discussion about tomorrow’s YouTube debates, shifting from outright criticism (that the same folks pick these questions as those in a regular debate) to one of progress (that the discussions continue on for much longer online, with even the candidates getting involved. Something to think about…
  • Daniel Radosh shares some amusement with how the Cincinnati Enquirer censored a racial slur in an article about how a performance of Ten Little Indians was shut down at a high school because of one of the names the book was published under by the British.
  • Lost Remote’s Cory Bergman details some of the goings-on with Topix’s deal with MediaNews’ local newspapers. You know, all that nifty stuff that we social media types like, as in getting interaction added to news.
  • And one last thing, from last night on PVRblog - looks like TiVo is finally in Canada. Well, except for the lack of HD part.
