Firings at NBC, NFL Network woes, NBC & iTunes parting ways (finally), Tribune’s sold fer sure, XM & Sirius and more in today’s Link Scoop.
- Jossip sez that some bloodletting at NBC News “very soon,” according to a source.
- On Friday, the Chicago Tribune’s Eric Benderoff had some not-so-nice things to say about the NFL Network’s attempt to “appease” fans by showing studio segments and other random chatter from Thursday night’s Packers-Cowboys tilt due to the fact that most cable subscribers don’t have access to the station. On that same topic, Satellite Stud (I didn’t make it up) chimes in over at Blogcritics with his two cents.
- Anyone else out there enjoying Vimeo HD?
- Hopefully you’ve heard by now that NBC content is now officially gone from iTunes? And in all seriousness, who sets up a multimedia content service and doesn’t get it to work with Mac users, especially when the prior service was big with Mac users?
- Hope no one’s looking for copies of old Paramount footage
- Did we notice, late last week, that the FCC had cleared the sale of Tribune Co.?
- XM and SIRIUS merger to be “official” as early as this week? I guess those of us who were sitting there with a “huh?” on our faces when we first heard that this would be checked over still might have a little bit of wonder on how this is any better than many of other potential company combinations. If these companies had double or triple the penetration they did into the marketplace, would it be approved then?
- Hey Thilk, I guess this means that you can’t hate hockey for purely not being on in Chicago anymore.
- Yep, that’s Imus back on the air this morning. I caught a few minutes of the show on my way into the office, and was pleased to see that after about 10 minutes of having the station on, I’d heard about 35 seconds of someone in the studio that wasn’t doing a live read of a commercial. Guess I’ll try again tomorrow.

Well I now know it has something to do with a stick and a goal, but I’m not sure why all the guys keep yelling “hit the fuck” at each other.
