In what seems like a definite shot across the bow of Clear Channel's "Instant Live" service, eMusic has launched an on-site kiosk where music fans can use a USB stick to download an entire concert just shortly after the show ends. InternetRetailer.com reports that on June 28th, those in attendance at a concert given by Southern Culture on the Skids at Maxwell's in Hoboken, New Jersey, were the first to have dibs on this offering from eMusic.
As discussed in previous posts on the subject, Clear Channel's patent plainly states that the company has "exclusive rights to the recording and instantaneous distribution of media." At least from where I stand, this move by eMusic seems to go directly against Clear Channel's claim.
